Seek Holiness - 1741
Introduction
Although notable English revival leader George Whitefield took issue with John Wesley’s doctrine of perfection, he firmly believed that true faith would always result in a changed life and urged his listeners to seek holiness. On this day February 17, 1741 he wrote as much to an unidentified American lady, advising her to live near to Christ. He went on to say:
Quote
“Be content with no degree of sanctification. Be always crying out, ‘Lord, let me know more of myself and of thee.’”
