A Prayer for the Fourth Sunday in Lent

Title page of Daily Prayers as Used in the Domestic Royal Chapels

Today's Devotional

Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that we, who for our evil deeds do worthily deserve to be punished, by the comfort of thy grace may mercifully be relieved; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

About the author and the source

Today’s prayer (technically, a collect—a prayer which moves very precisely from invocation to petition to conclusion) is from a thin volume of prayers for the church year used in the chapels of the English royal family. Its compiler was not credited.

Daily Prayers as Used in the Royal Domestic Chapels. 1844.
