We Need Spiritual Symbols

Cover of Kruckenburg’s A Thought and a Prayer for Every Day in the Year

Today's Devotional

It may be we shall never realize here, how greatly we have been dependent upon outward forms for the sustenance of our religious life. It is vain and presumptuous for any of us to think ourselves so spiritual and so independent of externals, as to be able to live as we ought without the helps which the visible Church of Christ offers to us.— Make me, O God, truly humble in myself, and truly strong in Thee.
